Festival Plaza

Old Town’s gathering place at Public Road and Chester Street: the splash-pad fountains run from Memorial Day to Labor Day, Picnic on the Plaza concerts on summer Thursdays, Art Night Out on second Fridays May to September, and the Chamber’s Holiday on the Plaza in December.

Festival Plaza, at 311 South Public Road, is open 6 am to 10 pm. Its splash-pad fountains run 10 am to 8 pm daily from Memorial Day to Labor Day, turned off during some events. The City holds Picnic on the Plaza here, free live music on Thursdays from noon to 1 in June, July and August, and Art Night Out, the free second-Friday street festival from May to September on Public Road between Emma and Cannon streets, 5 to 9 pm; the Chamber’s Holiday on the Plaza is here on December 5. The plaza may not be used for private events; a public event needs a Community Event Permit filed 60 days ahead. The Starkey Building beside it, renovated in 2025, rents for meetings and small workshops through the City’s portal.
