Thomas Open Space and Red Wagon Farm
City open space west of US 287 on Baseline Road, bought in 2002 as buffer land near Waneka Lake and farmed under lease by Red Wagon Farm, whose farm store in the Thomas Barn runs from mid-July through November.
The City bought the Thomas Open Space in 2002 as buffer land near Waneka Lake, and built the Thomas Barn in 2012 as a permanent farm stand. Isabelle Farm farmed it for 13 years and left at the end of 2021; in February 2022 City Council approved a three-year lease to Red Wagon Farm, chosen through a request for proposals. The property is on Baseline Road west of Highway 287, south of the Anna’s Farm subdivision. The farm store’s 2026 season, from the City’s page, ran from July 17 through November, Monday to Friday noon to 6 and weekends 10 to 6; the page does not say whether the lease has been renewed past its first three years. The City’s page gives no trail or dog information for the property.
