The Rock Creek open space properties were bought around 1986, the City’s facility page says, and the Rock Creek East trailhead is at 120th Street and Rock Creek Court, just south of Horizon Avenue. The western part of the trail in Lafayette runs 2.7 miles from South 120th Street to Dillon Road; the regional Rock Creek Trail is 12 miles in all, 2.4 of them in Lafayette by the City’s trail page, soft-surface, and the one trail in the system where horses are allowed. Open 4 am to 10 pm for walking, running, biking and cross-country skiing. There are no bathrooms. The City’s Open Space program starts its fall mindfulness walk here on November 8.
